ArtsRUs and The Little Gallery

Page history last edited by Carol Hosler 5 years, 4 months ago

ArtsRUs started over a decade ago as an art class sponsored by Gila Community College out of Globe, Arizona. Its several teachers through the years taught many people many things.

Several years ago, when the College ceased funding a teacher, the group decided to continue to meet as a club of mutual support. Folks gather in the hall at Good Shepherd every Friday from 9am to 2:30pm. The day begins with the sharing of the Great Courses video class, "How to Draw," and then members work for the rest of the time on whatever project they wish. Some are painters, using both oils and acrylics, and some are colored pencil artists. Any medium appropriate for the space is welcomed. At the end of the day, participants who wish may ask for the feedback of the other artists. Members say they are all teachers and learners.

Each spring, the group sponsors a show of their works for the year in Good Shepherd's Little Gallery.
